I am excited to announce that last week the Ohio House passed House Bill 413 with a bipartisan vote of 91-4. This legislation, sponsored by Representative Tom Young and myself, expands transparency and accountability in government spending across Ohio.

HB 413 strengthens the Ohio Checkbook program by requiring political subdivisions to provide both expenditure and revenue information in a public, easy-to-access database so taxpayers can better
see how their dollars are being spent.

The bill now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.

Today State Representative Roy Klopfenstein and I had the privilege of presenting an 80th birthday commendation to an extraordinary constituent of his, my mom!

It’s not everyday your State Representative stops by to personally wish you a happy birthday. Thank you, Rep. Klopfenstein, for making this birthday extra special.

Happy Birthday, Mom. I love you!

Still taking time to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who gave everything for our freedom. Memorial Day we all take time to remember and honor our fallen hero’s.

I was honored to attend and be apart of some local meaningful events this past weekend and Monday. After being apart of the Middletown Memorial Day parade, I attended the Memorial Day ceremony at Woodside Cemetery. I had the chance to meet and talk briefly with the Grand Marshall of the parade, Bruce McRoberts, whom is a proud World War II veteran and recently celebrated his 100th birthday. It was especially cool to see him receive a flag from our office that was flown over the Ohio Statehouse!

House Bill 170 has officially passed the Ohio Senate with a unanimous bipartisan vote of 30-0!

Sponsored by Representative Monica Robb Blasdel, and myself, this legislation establishes a framework for carbon capture and storage technology in Ohio. House Bill 170 will help position our state for future energy innovation, economic development, and job creation which is another step toward keeping Ohio competitive in the evolving energy sector.

HB 170 will now make its way to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law.
