The Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs is an Ohio state government agency that was created in 1977 with seventeen mandates proscribed in sections 121.32 and 121.33 of the Ohio Revised Code. These mandates fall into one of three categories that form the agency's mission.

Great weekend in Cincinnati! OCHLA representatives were pleased to attend the 22nd Annual Cincy-Cinco Latino Festival on May 2nd and 3rd.

Commissioner Roland Molina, Public Policy Officer Jessica Sutton, and Executive Director Giovanna Alvarez enjoyed connecting with the community and sharing vital State of Ohio resources. We are grateful for our continued engagement with leaders and organizations throughout Southwest Ohio.

Huge congratulations to the Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA, the Cincinnati Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and all participating organizations for hosting such a vibrant event!

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced a statewide OVI checkpoint initiative taking place on Saturday, May 16, to help deter and intercept impaired driving across Ohio.

Checkpoint counties will be announced the day before, with specific locations shared the morning of the checkpoints.

As always, if you plan to consume alcohol, please make a safe plan ahead of time, designate a sober driver, and make travel arrangements. Let’s work together to keep our communities safe.
