Clay Township fire members will be at station 92 located at 9922 E 25th St. this Saturday from 12-4. If anyone is wanting to stop by and look around the trucks, see our equipment, ask questions, get to meet the firefighters. Or even interested in becoming a firefighter, EMT, Support Staff member or even a cadet (ages 13-18) come on out Saturday 12-4. And we'll also have our fi***rm raffle tickets for sell during that time as well.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the potential for isolated severe thunderstorms across central Indiana this afternoon through tonight. Bartholomew County is currently under a Level 1 (Marginal) risk for severe weather.

🌩️ Primary hazards include:
• Wind gusts exceeding 60 mph
• Large hail
• Flash flooding from heavy rainfall

🌪️ Tornadoes are currently considered unlikely, but conditions can change quickly.

...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana... Big Blue River at Carthage. Clifty Creek at Hartsville. .Copious rainfall in the past 24 hours, totaling as much as 5 inches in Bartholomew County and 8 inches in Rush County, are quickly bringing flooding to the Big Blue River and Clifty Creek today. Rainfall will taper off the rest of the day, with additional amounts expected to be under four tenths of an inch.

* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Flooding begins in low spot along Clifty
Creek.

- At 3:00 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 8.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 9.6 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late
tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the potential for thunderstorms on Saturday, with isolated severe storms possible across central Indiana, including Bartholomew County.

• Isolated severe thunderstorms
• Damaging wind gusts
• Frequent lightning
• Heavy rainfall

🌧️ Heavy Rain Potential
Rainfall totals of up to 2 inches are possible from Friday night through Sunday, with the heaviest rain expected on Saturday. Bartholomew County is currently included in a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall, meaning localized flooding is possible, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

✅ Now is the time to prepare:
• Stay weather aware throughout the day Saturday.
• Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, including CodeRED, Wireless Emergency Alerts, and NOAA Weather Radio.
