The East Columbus Independent Fire Department (ECIFD) provides emergency services to the area of Columbus Township that is outside of the city limits. ECIFD also have verbal and written mutual aid agreements with all of the fire departments within Bartholomew County, and respond to incidents outside Bartholomew County when requested. 🚩 🔥 The National Weather Service is highlighting an elevated fire weather risk for Thursday afternoon.

What to Expect:

⚠️ Low humidity values around 25–30%
⚠️ Drying fuels
⚠️ Southwest wind gusts of 15–30 mph

These conditions can allow fires to start easily and spread quickly.

Safety Reminders:

☑️ Limit outdoor burning if possible
☑️ Use extra caution with anything that could spark a fire
