Facilitated by Amy Juravich, host of WOSU’s All Sides, this conversation will explore the history of Columbus City Council elections, explain both proposals, and provide an opportunity for community questions.

What an amazing Day of Service! 💛👏

Today, the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus had the pleasure of hosting 8 incredible volunteers from Columbus State Community College as part of their annual Day of Service! Columbus State Community College

This team jumped right in and helped us tackle some BIG projects:

💌 Wrote postcards thanking Board of Elections workers across Ohio for the important work they do to keep our elections running! (Thank you Jackie for leading us with this huge project!)

🎨 Painted rocks for us to use at voter registration tables and community events — adding a little color and creativity to our outreach!

🗳️ Built 100 Election Protection yard signs that will be distributed throughout our community to help voters know where to turn if they have questions or need help casting their ballot.

We are so grateful for their time, energy, creativity, and willingness to serve. These projects will directly support our voter outreach and Election Protection work over the coming weeks.

Thank you, Columbus State Community College, and thank you to our fantastic volunteers for spending your Day of Service with the League! 💙❤️

Update your address TODAY. You can submit a change of address online.

⚠️ See “Confirmation Status” on your voter record?
Don’t ignore it. Contact your local Board of Elections or the Ohio Secretary of State’s office as soon as possible to find out what you need to do. You can also submit a new voter registration/change of address form today.

What a wonderful afternoon of music, community, and support! 🎶💜

This past Sunday, League members, friends, and plenty of new faces joined us at Overbrook Presbyterian Church for the Bill Cohen Sing-Along! We’re so thankful to everyone who came out to sing along, spend time together, and support the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus.

And thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised just under $2,000 for the League! 🎉 These funds help us continue our work empowering voters, providing trusted nonpartisan election information, and engaging our community.

A huge thank you to Bill Cohen, Overbrook Presbyterian Church, everyone who helped make the event possible, and every person who joined us. We loved seeing longtime League friends and meeting so many new ones! 💜

📣 Meet the speakers for our Community Conversation on Columbus Ballot Issues 8 & 9!

Join us on Wednesday, October 7 for a friendly, educational conversation about the two Columbus City Council charter amendments appearing on the November ballot.

🎤 Facilitated by: Amy Juravich, host of WOSU’s All Sides with Amy Juravich
🏛️ Historical Perspective: Dr. Vladimir Kogan, The Ohio State University
🗳️ Issue 8: Will Petrik, Our City Our Say
🗳️ Issue 9: Councilmember Nick Bankston, Columbus City Council

This is not a debate. It’s an opportunity to learn how Columbus arrived at its current City Council election system, hear directly about Issues 8 and 9, and ask your own questions about what the proposals would mean for Columbus voters.

Come curious and bring your questions! We want you to leave with a better understanding of what you’ll see on your ballot this November.

🗳️ Meet our Community Voter Outreach team!

We’re excited to welcome Kathryn Page and MaryBeth Bognar, two new part-time contractors supporting the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus through our Community Voter Outreach Project!

Kathryn and MaryBeth are working directly in Linden, Franklinton, the Hilltop, Eastmoor, and Bronzeville—building relationships, connecting with community partners, and helping residents get the information and resources they need to participate in the upcoming election.

These neighborhoods have historically experienced lower voter registration and turnout, and this project is all about meeting people where they are and making voting information more accessible.

👋 If you see Kathryn or MaryBeth out at a community event, be sure to say hello! We’re so excited to have them helping us get out the vote across Columbus.
