Exciting (AO) news! 🎉

On April 22, the AO team hosted its Southeast Regional Event on Sensory Inclusion in Ohio’s Community Spaces, uniting passionate stakeholders dedicated to enhancing accessibility across the region. The event was held at the Grove City Library.

Attendees gained valuable information on practical strategies for creating welcoming environments for all using sensory kits, sensory spaces, sensory hours and events, sensory maps, and social narratives. 💪

A huge thank you to all who joined us and contributed to this event! Together, we’re making strides toward a more accessible Ohio.

Heading out for weekend? 😃

As you travel across Ohio, keep this fun fact in mind. Many vending machines and food service locations at Ohio highway rest areas are operated by small business owners who are legally blind through OOD's Business Enterprise (BE) program!

BE operators help keep travelers fueled while building successful entrepreneurial careers.

And if you stop by the Marion rest area, check out the beautiful revamped space completed last year in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Department of Development, and Governor Mike DeWine!

May is also —a reminder of how accessible transportation, travel, and public spaces help connect people to work, family, recreation, and opportunity.

Safe travels, Ohio! 🚗
