The New Hope High School volleyball team defeated West Point 3-0 on Tuesday night in a district match.
The New Hope junior varsity team defeated West Point 2-0.

Here is a statement from Lowndes County School District Superintendent Dr. Sam Allison regarding the accident that involved a LCSD bus on Tuesday afternoon:

We are thankful today the outcome of Tuesday’s bus accident was not more tragic. Several of those involved face a road to recovery, and we ask you keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
We also want to thank the first responders who answered the call. We are grateful for their quick response, service and care in the aftermath of the accident.
We ask everyone to please use extra caution whenever you see a school bus on the road. Remember every school bus is carrying our most precious cargo, our students.
Please stay alert, use caution and help us keep our students safe.

Get ready Lowndes County because the Million Cans Recycling Contest is returning for another year.
Collect your aluminum cans and bring them to Caledonia Elementary School, New Hope Elementary School and West Lowndes Elementary School starting on or around Oct. 1, 2026.
Last year, New Hope Elementary was the top recycling school in the state with 73,815 cans collected.
Overall, three million aluminum beverage cans were collected during the 2025–2026 contest, helping keep approximately 87,000 pounds of aluminum out of landfills while raising awareness about sustainability, recycling, and the circular economy.

The New Hope High School boys golf team finished second Monday at the Choctaw Central Boys Invitational at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club.
Tupelo won the team title with a +6 (294). New Hope took second with a +17 (305) in the 14-school field.
Tupelo's Corbyn Bowles earned medalist honors with a -1 (71). He was the only player to shoot under par.
King Edge tied for third (74) to lead New Hope. Lee Stockton (sixth, 75), William Lanford (tied for eighth, 77), Cadence Forrester (tied for 14th, 79), Joshua Bradberry (tied for 26th, 83) and Rhett Fleming (tied for 33rd, 86) also played for New Hope.

Thank you to Caledonia Elementary School kindergarten teacher Brooke Fortner for sending pictures of her students participating in International Dot Day on Tuesday.
Students wore dots, read the book, "The Dot", painted dots, did STEM building, and created their own mark. They also tried different dot candies.
The hallway picture is from the Purple hall (pre-kindergarten and kindergarten) at CES.
