Okay... so we were very slow on this post because a lot of us are still reeling from what has happened. Perhaps we'd better start from the beginning.. maybe not the very beginning but the beginning of the end...Summer 2018 Captain Charlie 1st tries to buy the Shadow Zone but property management company Investment Realty Advisors dosent want to cooperate for an undisclosed reason. Fast forward to spring 2020, After 2 more offers to purchase the property, management company starts allowing other ppl to walk through the Shadow Zone to see if THEY would like to purchase. September 2020 a "company" called "Eyehomes" purchase the Shadow Zone after numerous offers from Captain Charlie to buy. October 9, 30 day "get the f**k out" notice is given. October 15 the Captain recieved a phone call from "eyehomes" requesting we move out sooner and receive $500. The Captain informs this human that he cannot b bought and request to remains in the Zone and continue paying rent, The shrill, cold and rude woman informs him that they are "renovating" and that there is no way he can stay. The Captain warns her of the neighborhood and how he is the only form of consistency and structure on the sad drug ridden block. She responds " We know the neighborhood well and have been trying to get into the neighborhood for a while now." Little did she know how uninformed and ignorant she truely is.... Fast forward to November 8, the last day, a 24hrs moving day and mad dash to save any and all things from the Shadow Zone that we could because this "company" (really just a rich bitch of a man that went to a "flip houses in you are now" seminar) will take possession November 9at 1PM. THIS IS GENTRIFICATION IN ACTION: MAKING PPL HOMELESS FOR THE SAKE OF PROFIT. The last load leaves with the Captain at 830AM November 9th.. The Captain is officially homeless and the Shadow Zone is gone.... November 20, the Captain awakes on Ceti Alpha 5, a barren wasteland planet, to a message that the Shadow Zone had burned down. Extremely saddened despite how he was treated by the greed of the American capitalist. That morning he decided to see for himself. The damage was devastating and heartbreaking. The place so many of us have come to love is gone, reduced to mere memories we hold dear... That's tough pill to swallow, not only for the Captain but for all of us. The very reason we couldn't make the post just yet. But to quote one of the best Captains around: "Live now; make now always the most precious time... Now will never come again" each and every now was a Thirsty Thursday or a show, cherish these moment as they will never come again.... Goodbye and Farewell wherever you may fare Shadow Zone.2 and we look not to the past but forward to the future and the Shadow Zone.3!!! ...This is not the end of The Shadow Zone we all shall rise again 😁🤘🖖👍🖤🎸🎶🎵
