A 93-year-old Army veteran from Columbus took an unforgettable ride Thursday when he took to the skies in a vintage World War II-era biplane.

What a wonderful and a truly unforgettable moment for Don, his family, and the entire Keepsake Village community! We had the absolute honor of cheering on our amazing resident and U.S. Army Veteran, Don, as he took to the skies for his Dream Flight!

It was a hot day, but Don enjoyed every moment of this incredible adventure. The Dream Flights organization honored eight military veterans by giving them the adventure of a lifetime a 20-minute flight in a restored Boeing Stearman biplane, the same type of aircraft once used to train aviators during the 1940s. Don was one of the eight veterans who had the incredible opportunity to experience this special flight. He was excited, thrilled, surprised, and, most of all, deeply honored to have this special opportunity.

Dedicated Keepsake staff, representatives from Gardant, and Don’s family stood together to cheer him on at takeoff, soar through the sky, and safely land after his 20-minute flight. Seeing the joy and excitement on his face was a moment we will treasure forever. This was truly a special memory for him and for everyone fortunate enough to share this incredible day with him.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the entire Dream Flights team for making this incredible experience possible for Don and for giving him a memory that he and all of us will cherish for years to come.

🐾💕 Molly is back! 🐾💕

After a few weeks away, Molly was so excited to see our residents, and they were just as excited to see her too! She loved climbing into laps for cuddles, and our residents were happy to give her all the love.

Happy 96th Birthday, Thelma! May your 96th year be filled with love, laughter, and many sweet moments!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Thelma’s 96th birthday with her daughters and our residents! And oh, my goodness what a delicious spread of treats and love! From white to chocolate cream cakes to cookies, pineapple upside-down cake, and all kinds of cheesecake, there was something for everyone!
