Focusing on wellness and helping students learn their best! Director Stephen Dackin visited Kae Avenue Elementary in Whitehall City Schools this week for a special event to highlight the work of Governor Mike DeWine and the Columbus Crew to bring vision services to schools.

OhioSEE is Governor DeWine's eyesight program for children, which brings vision services directly to schools serving K-3 students. OhioSEE currently serves 247 school districts in a 15-county area as part of a pilot program.

We have amazing news about an Ohio school bus driver in the national spotlight! Congratulations to Kelli Goterba on being named this year’s National Special-Needs School Bus Driver of the Year. The honor recognizes school bus drivers who go above and beyond through special accomplishments and innovations that improve their work and make a difference for students.

Driving for the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities and their Fairhaven School in Niles, Kelli Goterba is dedicated to understanding each student and their individual needs. She builds relationships with their families and school teams, and creates an environment where students feel supported.

Through building trust with students and strengthening her transportation team, Goterba exemplifies the impact special-needs drivers can make.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has sparked excitement for lifelong learning through the importance of literacy. More than 1 million Ohio children have received a free book in the mail through the Imagination Library of Ohio, nearly 28 million books.
