The America 250-Ohio Commission recently launched the Ohio Transportation Trail as part of Ohio’s broader celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The Trail features sites across the state that showcase Ohio’s leadership and innovation in transportation across four thematic areas: Air, Road, Railroad, and Water. The sites highlight the people, places, and innovations that moved Ohio—and the nation—forward.

I am excited to share that the Trail has 7 sites in the 31st Senate district!

Tuscarawas Central Catholic Schools Elementary Environmental Club celebrating the end of the school year by having ice cream in Dover!
The Club has participated in numerous activities this year including litter walks, helping clean up the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds after the fair last year, and tending to and weeding their butterfly garden on their school campus!
Great kids who are very excited for summer vacation!

Senator Landis Honors Strasburg Girls Basketball Champions

COLUMBUS—State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) recognized the Strasburg-Franklin High School Girls Basketball Team in the Ohio Senate for winning the OHSAA Division VII State Championship.

“This is an amazing group of student-athletes,” said Senator Landis. “The hard work, dedication, and talent of this group allowed them to make a remarkable achievement. I'm proud to celebrate this team before the Ohio Senate and I look forward to watching their continued success both on and off the court."

The Tigers victory over the Russia Raiders capped a 25-5 season and gave Strasburg-Franklin their first OHSAA girls basketball state title in school history. The team was led in their championship winning season by head coach Tyler Bates.

Always great to meet with Norwayne High School students and their teacher, Mr. Larrison, during their spring trip to the Statehouse. Representative Meredith Craig and I enjoyed telling them about the work we do as their state legislators representing Wayne County.

Congratulations to Gradall Industries for receiving the Manufacturing Excellence Award at the Eastern Ohio Development Alliance (EODA) annual meeting. Pictured with me are Scott Robinson, President of the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce, and Mike Popovich, President of Gradall. In addition to receiving this award, Gradall is also celebrating their 80th year of operation in 2026.

Pleased to attend the Licking Regional ESC Mentorship Program breakfast this morning with Dylan, a student from Philo High School. Dylan interned in my office and got to see firsthand what it‘s like to be a state senator. He has a bright future ahead of him, and I look forward to hearing about his next accomplishments!
