Opposition Research is important. The Republican party did not do their homework by allowing him to run as a Republican.

A subcommittee has been established to look into the freshman congressman, who has admitted to fabricating large swaths of his biography and who has been accused of breaking campaign finance laws.

Too often, candidates for office hire their friends and people they "like" as opposed to people who will get the job done. And then, the candidate is surprised a campaign report did not get filed or other important tasks that they were ignorant of and thought someone else took care of. If you're thinking of running for office, want to win, and then succeed in office, put performance over personalities.

Candidates that say they worry about voter fraud, but refuse to have candidates in the polls watching are candidates that don't understand the process. They're the the parties and parades kind of candidates--that's where elections are lost. Tacticians usually win. ,

Your vote is not a valentine. You aren't confessing your love for the candidate. It's a chess move for the type of world you want to live in.

How To Lose a Campaign:
• Let your opponent define you and your campaign.
• Surround yourself with people who tell you what you want to hear rather what you need to hear.
• Refuse to use smart data.
• Not knowing who your base is and how many votes you need from the other side.
• Say “I am feeling pretty good,” when asked about your campaign.
• Adjust your campaign plan based on what other people tell you that are not professional political strategists.
• Waste money communicating with the masses rather than likely voters.
• Getting a campaign office with no windows, no signage, and no parking. (Storefronts are best.)
• Taking your voters for granted.
• Ignore historical data as an indicator of future voting trends.
• Refusing to analyze absentee ballot votes before the election.
• Being surprised on Election Day. (Campaigns using smart data know if they have won or lost before the election.)

Candidate & Campaign 101: If a person takes a yard sign, they are going to vote for you. Make sure they are registered. Make sure you have their contact information. Most importantly, make sure they vote for you on Election Day by turning out those votes. Not tracking yard signs is a rookie mistake.
