To every graduate in central Ohio: we see you, and we are SO proud. 🎓✨

United Way of Central Ohio believes that every child deserves the chance to reach this milestone. Through our Success by Third Grade work, we’re building the foundation that makes moments like this possible, one reader, one classroom, one community at a time.

Some conversations are too good to fit into one episode. 🎙️

We sat down with Shannon Isom, President and CEO of , and what followed was one of the most powerful discussions we’ve had yet! So powerful, we turned it into a two-part series.

Resources. Connection. Community. 💛

Success by Third Grade partnered with Livingston Collaborative to bring a resource fair to Livingston Elementary School and the families who showed up left with real connections to summer youth programming, health and wellness resources and so much more.

A special shoutout to our Network Director Kate Curry-Da-Souza, who has been working alongside Livingston Collaborative to make this event a reality from the start. This is what collective impact looks like and we’re so proud to be part of it!

1,600 snack packs. 373 encouragement cards. One incredible team. 💙

Nationwide’s technology team volunteers made a real, tangible difference for central Ohio kids. Those snack packs are already being distributed across all 9 locations. Those cards will find their way into 10,000+ backpacks for the 2026–2027 school year.

Every child deserves to be nourished, encouraged and seen. Thanks to volunteers like this team, more of them will be. Thank you, and thank you, for helping facilitate!

On this Memorial Day, we honor those who gave everything so our communities could thrive. Their sacrifice reminds us why the work of building a stronger, more united central Ohio matters.

Some things are truly terrifying. 😱

A student not reading at grade level by the end of third grade. A family choosing between rent and groceries. A company whose employees want to volunteer but don’t know where to start. A community unaware of the resources right here in Central Ohio. And Michael Wilkos with no one to talk to.

This is what keeps us up at night and why we show up every single day.

United is the Way. 💙

Before a child can learn to read, they need to feel okay. 💙

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re thinking about the whole child because emotional wellbeing and early literacy don’t exist in separate boxes. They grow together.

Thank you to donors, families and community partners who make it possible for us to support children and families across central Ohio every day.
