Boards of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State's office will be open until 9PM to assist with in-person registration. BUT Ohioans still have a few more hours to register or update their registration online at VoteOhio.gov before midnight tonight.

An important distinction: Absentee ballot REQUEST forms must be received by October 27 (although you should not wait that long!)

Absentee BALLOTS must be received by your county board of elections by 7:30 pm on Election Day!

Before every election, all 88 Ohio county boards of elections conduct public logic and accuracy (L&A) testing on all voting equipment.

L&A testing puts every ballot style and voting system component through a systematic pre-election test to make sure:

✅ Ballots are read correctly
✅ Votes are tabulated accurately
✅ Equipment is properly secured and sealed for use

A few important reminders as absentee ballot REQUESTS start hitting mailboxes.

1: This mailer is an APPLICATION, not a ballot.
2: Voter identification and signature are checked TWICE during the process, first when the absentee ballot is requested and again when the voted ballot is returned.
3: Only valid registered voters who request a ballot can receive a ballot, and only after their information is verified by bipartisan teams at the local board of elections.

📱 Got Ohio Mobile ID? Great, but don’t leave your physical ID at home on Election Day!

Ohio Mobile ID is not a valid form of ID for voting. If you’re voting in person, make sure you have an accepted physical photo ID with you.

To reduce confusion from repeating ballot issue numbers between elections, the Ohio General Assembly passed a law to make statewide ballot issue numbers sequential. The numbering will continue until Issue 500, before restarting at Issue 1 again.
