On August 27, there was a Community Forum on "Taking Community Action to Improve Health & Quality of Life," at the Dr. Charles R. Drew Health Center. 63 persons were in attendance, including the presenters and program planners from the Miami Valley Organizing Collaborative (“MVOC”), Public Health Dayton Counil on Health Equity, Wright State University, and In Health Ohio.

As promised, we plan to continue the discussion that was begun at the August forum at the next monthly Miami Valley Organizing Collaborative (“MVOC”) meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m., at Omega Baptist Church (1821 Emerson Avenue, Dayton 45406).

Forer Mayor Clay Dixon is MVOC's Lead Organizer, and I facilitate the MVOC Health Group.

Would you please attend the September MVOC meeting? We will work as a group to create an action plan and take steps to address barriers and issues that impact health and quality of life in our community.

Thanks so much. Please attend if you can. Let’s take action!
