☀️ BEAT THE HEAT! ☀️
As temperatures and humidity climb, here’s a quick reminder of some simple ways to beat the heat and stay safe!
💧 Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
❄️ Stay Cool – Spend time in air-conditioned locations and take frequent breaks from the heat.
🕐 Avoid the Hottest Hours – Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day when possible.
👕 Dress for the Heat – Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
👥 Check on Others – Keep an eye on older adults, young children, neighbors, and others who may be more vulnerable to heat.
🐾 Protect Your Pets – Provide plenty of fresh water and shade, limit activity during the hottest hours, and watch out for hot pavement.
🚗 Look Before You Lock – Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle, even for a short time.
⚠️ Know the signs of heat-related illness. Headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness, heavy sweating, or confusion can be signs that the heat is taking a toll.
A little planning and a few simple precautions can make a big difference.
☀️ Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Check on each other. Beat the heat!
