Director Wingo recently joined the Rick & Reese Show for a meaningful conversation about the Franklin County Office on Aging and the services available to older adults, caregivers and families across Franklin County.

During the conversation, Director Wingo shared one of her favorite stories from FCOA’s caregiver support program. A mother wanted to travel to California to watch her daughter graduate and walk across the stage, but she was also caring for her own mother and needed support to make the trip possible.

Through the Franklin County Office on Aging, care was provided for her mother, allowing her to fly to California and be there for her daughter’s special moment.

Stories like this reflect the heart of our work: connecting residents and families with support that helps them move through life’s most meaningful moments with dignity, care and peace of mind.

Thank you to Rick and Reese for creating space for this important conversation and helping share the work being done to support older adults, caregivers and families throughout Franklin County.

We look forward to more conversations and collaborations with Rick and Reese down the road. Stay tuned!

What a day at Huntington Park! ⚾💙

Yesterday, the Franklin County Office on Aging celebrated Office on Aging Day with the Columbus Clippers, and it was a great day of connection, community and fun.

We were joined by 11 vendors, including Level Up Land, Heart & Sole and other community partners who helped connect older adults with resources, services and upcoming opportunities across Franklin County. All vendor tables stayed busy throughout the entire event, and our team did an amazing job sharing information with attendees all day.

A special thank you to Director Wingo for delivering an energizing introduction before the game and to FCOA’s own Dennis Wheeler for throwing the first pitch!

Guests also enjoyed music, interviews and entertainment from Rick and Reese, who kept the crowd engaged while giving older adults the chance to share powerful advice and stories.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. What an awesome day! ⚾

Today, Franklin County Office on Aging Director Chanda Wingo joined Ohio Women in Government for a panel discussion focused on the sandwich generation and the realities facing people who are caring for both children and aging loved ones.

The conversation explored why caregiving is an important policy issue, how childcare, elder care and workplace policies intersect, and how state, county and community-based organizations can better coordinate support for families.

Director Wingo joined Kara Wente, Director of the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, and Dr. Shoshanah Inwood, Associate Professor of Community, Food, and Economic Development at The Ohio State University.

Thank you to Ohio Women in Government for creating space for this important conversation.
