Last week, Prosecutor Favor was honored as one of three HERstory Makers by The Columbus Urban League! HERstory highlights the accomplishments of women who have broken barriers in business, government, law, and community development while also creating opportunities for future generations to succeed.

Prosecutor Favor joined fellow honorees Janica Pierce-Tucker, Partner-in-Charge at Taft Law, and Deputy County Administrator Joy Bivens on stage at the Columbus Art Museum for a discussion on "Abundance."

And congratulations to three of our team members; Andrea Freeman, LaShaun Sodders, and Nya Hairston, who were all recognized as Movers and Shakers! We are so proud!

This National Treatment Court Month, we are honoring a graduate from the CATCH Court program and a current case worker and author - Karen Monroe!

CATCH Court is an innovative program that provides a path of rehabilitation and recovery for those charged with solicitation. Rather than punishing victims, CATCH Court delivers a restorative justice approach and gives women a structured path forward.

Watch as Karen Monroe discusses her experience with CATCH Court and how it both changed her life and motivated her to share her story through her book, Heart Without a Habit.

On this Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community. We remember their courage and dedication and while we owe them a debt that can never be repaid, their service will never be forgotten.

To the officers we have lost, we remember you. To those still serving, we thank you.

This National Police Week, we honor those who dedicate their careers to public safety and are reminded that delivering transparency and accountability to Franklin County takes collaboration across the entire law enforcement community.

Just a few weeks ago, Prosecutor Favor joined Columbus Police First Assistant Chief Lashanna Potts, U.S. Marshal Michael Black, Bexley Police Chief Gary Lewis, and FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge Jason Cromartie at the National Association of Black Journalists Region II Conference hosted by the Columbus Association of Black Journalists to discuss a question that drives our work every day: how do law enforcement and justice system leaders collaborate to keep the public meaningfully informed?

The answer: partnership. We must have a shared commitment to being as transparent as the job allows so that communities are better served, and public trust is stronger for it.

It was great to gather with Franklin County leaders and community partners at the 2026 State of the County Luncheon! During the event, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners presented the 2026 State of the County report, a transparent look at the accomplishments of agencies across the county, resident impact stories, and how public funds are being put to work. It was a meaningful reflection of the people and places that make this community exceptional.

We are proud to serve alongside these partners driving progress in Franklin County every day!

We're closing out Public Service Recognition Week with a well-deserved shoutout to Dan Meyer, Director of the Special Victims Unit. Dan leads the team that prosecutes some of the most difficult and sensitive cases in our office. His unit brings a trauma-informed, victim-centered approach to every case, ensuring survivors are supported, heard, and treated with care throughout the entire legal process.

SVU demands not just legal expertise, but compassion, patience and an unwavering commitment to the people behind every case. Thank you, Dan, for the dedication and humanity you bring to this work!
