Save The Hartman Farm Historic District, Columbus Ohio A community initiative to oppose the rezoning of the Hartman Stock Farm Historic District

The Hartman Stock Farm Historic District is a beautiful historic farm on the national register of historic places. A few individuals want to completely destroy it in order to build a loud polluting data farm right across from Hamilton Township Schools.

A California-based consultant said the city's zoning code is outdated and needs an overhaul, with too many variances and often the wrong developments in the wrong neighborhoods.

For those who may be interested, PFK Company and Tamarack Enterprises (otherwise known as the Hartman Farm Heirs) have filed an application with the city to allow for strip mining on all of the land from the current Olen Corp quarry all the way to Shadeville. Basically all the way to the backyards of the people who live on Cottage Street.

This could potentially affect the quality of life of homeowners in the area (Shadeville, Hartman Farm, Sweet Water) due to the blasting during quarry operations. There is also the potential for foundation damage depending on extent of blasts. Allowing more strip mining is also an environmental risk, especially to our drinking water. Don't forget, we reside on top of the largest aquifer in Franklin County!

The application was filed by the same attorney who filed the rezoning application that allowed for the total destruction of the historic Hartman Farm site.

You can view the full rezoning application at:

Put some public records requests (under sunshine laws) in regarding Magellan Enterprises LLC. Stay tuned.

Looks like the Hartman heirs actually sold the property to Magellan Enterprices LLC which goes against everything the community was originally told (surprise! They lied!).

FYI the property is still officially zoned for Agriculture

What is this nonsense??

Where are the plans for this monstrosity of a development? Since when did they city just blindly approve things without an actual plan?

Oh right....when the landowners and/or their attorney started lining the pockets of council members.

A utility truck was cruising through the cornfield off Rathmell this morning. Sad. Sad that the heirs of this land have their heads so far up their butts that they can't see they are hurting a community.
