"In honor of April being nationally recognized as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, the Parent Involvement and Skills Committee with the Children's Policy Council of Shelby County will be hosting the 5th Annual Pinwheels for Prevention Event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Chelsea City Hall. This will be a FREE event that will highlight many different organizations throughout Shelby County that work towards strengthening families! The event will take place on April 18, 2026, from 10:00am until 12:00pm. We are truly grateful that Mayor Cody Sumners will be coming out to speak, many local community organizations will be there to provide information, there will also be a Fire Truck, a Medical Bus, free food while it lasts, a bouncy house, games, music, and so much more! The event will be held at Chelesa City Hall, 11611 Chelsea Road, Chelsea, AL 35043. It was a great event last Thursday at the Hoover
"State of the City" at Ross Bridge Resort.
Mayor Derzis laid out his vision for the future of Hoover.
It was Great to see many friends including the Hoover City Council, Business Leaders and First Responders.
As well as Miss Alabama Emma Terry and Miss Hoover Ali Mims.
I look forward to working with Mayor Derzis and the Hoover city council to accomplish their goals.
