The political climate feels like a battlefield. Across America and here in the heat of South Carolina's special Senate Runoff election, people are divided, lines are drawn, and Republicans are pitted against Republicans over who should lead.

It can feel exhausting or even disheartening, but history reminds us who we are.

Two wars were sparked right here on South Carolina soil, and when our country's future hung by a thread during the American Revolution, it was the Battle of Kings Mountain that turned the tide.

Everyday Carolinians refused to back down, and because of that grit, history was rewritten.

After next week, this fight narrows. When the dust settles from the ballot box, only one candidate will be successful and move forward.

No matter the outcome, South Carolina does not cower.

Leaders and political seasons come and go, but the strength of our state has never rested in a single candidate, it rests in the backbone of our people and our trust in Almighty God. We have stood tall through revolutions, uncertainty, and division before, and we aren't about to shrink back now.

Let the political battlefield play out, but don't lose heart. Stand firm in your convictions, show up and vote... and remember what runs through our veins.
