The risk of severe weather increases as spring arrives, bringing threats such as lightning, hail, strong winds, heavy rain, flooding and tornadoes. To help keep the community safe, MU Emergency Management continues to provide education, resources and guidance on weather preparedness. Weather permitting, Mizzou will participate in the statewide tornado drill on March 4 at 11 a.m.

- Before You Go: Lock doors and windows, unplug electronics and close blinds.
- Think Ahead: Let a friend or roommate know your travel plans and expected return date.
- Stay Sharp: Keep valuables out of sight and avoid leaving personal items unattended.
- Say Something: If you see something suspicious, contact MUPD at (573) 882-7201 or call 911 for emergencies.
