Over the past two weeks, homeowners and businesses within the Tri-Community Fire Protection District should have received our Annual Donation Fundraiser Letter in the mail.

Each year, we send this letter for two important reasons: to ask for your continued financial support and to give you a brief look at what your previous donations have helped us accomplish. There is only so much we can fit on one piece of paper, but the impact of your support reaches much further.

Your donations help us purchase and maintain equipment, improve our stations and apparatus, provide training for our firefighters, and ensure our members have the tools and resources they need when our community calls for help.

To everyone who has donated in the past, continues to support us, or has already responded to this yearโ€™s letter โ€”๐™๐™ƒ๐˜ผ๐™‰๐™† ๐™”๐™Š๐™! Your support truly makes a difference.

If you do not live within our fire protection district, did not receive a letter, or simply want to help support our mission, you can still make a donation.

Our members train hard and dedicate countless hours to being prepared to serve not only the citizens of our fire protection district, but also our surrounding communities when mutual aid is needed. We are proud of what our department has accomplished, and none of it would be possible without the continued support of the people and businesses we serve.

Tri Community Fire Department is proud to announce that our new brush truck will be in service soon!

What makes this truck especially meaningful is that it was made possible through the generous donations received from our annual mail-out fundraiser which you should be seeing again soon. Every donation, no matter the size, helped make this addition to our department possible.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated and continues to support Tri Community Fire Department. Your contributions are being put directly back into equipment that helps us better protect our community and the people who call it home.

We are thankful for the men and women of TCFD and all the FDs for your dedication and commitment to Public Safety. ๏ฟผ

๐Ÿ”ฅ PUBLIC SAFETY MESSAGE โ€“ GRASS FIRE DANGER ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Over the last few days, Tri-Community Fire Department and surrounding fire departments have responded to an increase in out-of-control grass fires. These fires are spreading rapidly due to the extremely hot, dry conditions we are currently experiencing.

We ask everyone to use extreme caution with any activity that could start a fire. This includes:
โ€ข Outdoor burning
โ€ข Dragging safety chains that can create sparks along roadways
โ€ข Parking vehicles on dry grass
โ€ข Using equipment that produces sparks near dry vegetation
โ€ข Discarding ci******es from vehicles

If you plan to burn outdoors, please:
โ€ข Check current weather conditions and avoid burning on windy days.
โ€ข Have a water source, hose, or other extinguishing equipment readily available.
โ€ข Clear a safe area around your burn pile.
โ€ข Never leave a fire unattended.
โ€ข Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.

A small spark can quickly turn into a large wildfire, threatening homes, property, livestock, and lives.

We ask everyone to do their part to help prevent unnecessary fires during these dry conditions.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe.

This past Wednesday evening, Tri-Community Fire Department, Sparky the Fire Dog, and Sparkyโ€™s Team were honored to be invited to the Morgantown Church of God, End of Summer Program for an evening of fun and fire safety education.

Throughout the evening, we taught children several important fire and life safety lessons, including:
โ€ข The importance of working smoke alarms
โ€ข Having two ways out of every room
โ€ข When and how to call 911
โ€ข Choosing a family meeting place
โ€ข Seeing firefighters in full turnout gear so they wonโ€™t be afraid during an emergency
โ€ข โ€œTools, Not Toysโ€ โ€“ teaching children that many everyday household items, such as knives, fi****ms, chemicals, medications, matches, and lighters, are toolsโ€”not toysโ€”and should only be handled by a responsible adult.

The children also enjoyed our fire safety obstacle course and had the opportunity to spray water with firefighters and Sparky the Fire Dog. Weโ€™d also like to thank Morgantown VFD for inviting us and bringing one of their fire trucks to help make the event a success.

With National Fire Prevention Month just around the corner in October, weโ€™d love to bring our Fire & Life Safety Program to your school, church, daycare, community organization, or special event. We offer engaging fire safety education for children as well as fire and life safety presentations for older adults.

If youโ€™re interested in scheduling an event, please email [email protected] and include:
โ€ข The physical location of the event
โ€ข A contact personโ€™s name and phone number
โ€ข The date and time of the event (or the days and times of the event, if applicable)
โ€ข A brief description of the event and what youโ€™d like us to cover

Please remember that Tri-Community Fire Department is a 100% volunteer organization. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, we may not be able to attend every event.

Thank you again to Morgantown Church of God and Morgantown Fire Department for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful evening. We look forward to serving more of our community through fire prevention and education. If youโ€™d like us to visit your organization this October or at another time during the year, donโ€™t hesitate to reach out!

As you celebrate our nationโ€™s independence, remember to keep safety at the top of your list. We want your Fourth of July to end with great memories, not a trip to the emergency room or a visit from us.

A few friendly reminders:
โ€ข Keep a water hose or bucket nearby.
โ€ข Never allow children to handle fireworks without close adult supervision.
โ€ข Donโ€™t relight fireworks that fail to ignite.
โ€ข Stay away from dry grass, woods, and other areas where fires can easily spread.
โ€ข Keep your hands and fingers a safe distance from fireworks. Ten fingers make for a much better family photo than nine! ๐Ÿ˜‰
โ€ข If the firework says, โ€œ๐‘ณ๐’Š๐’ˆ๐’‰๐’• ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐’ˆ๐’†๐’• ๐’‚๐’˜๐’‚๐’š,โ€ thatโ€™s not a suggestion, it means RUN. ๐Ÿƒ
โ€ข If you drink, donโ€™t drive. Phone a friend.

And rememberโ€ฆ If your last words before lighting a firework are, โ€œ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’š ๐’šโ€™๐’‚๐’๐’, ๐’˜๐’‚๐’•๐’„๐’‰ ๐’•๐’‰๐’Š๐’”,โ€ youโ€™ve already made a bad decision. ๐Ÿ˜‚

From all of us at Tri-Community Fire Department, we wish you a fun, safe, and blessed Independence Day!

Last night marked the successful conclusion of the Tri-Community Fire Department 2026 Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Course. Through the dedication and hard work of all participants, 12 students successfully completed the course, providing several communities across our region with additional trained Emergency Medical Responders ready to serve when their communities need them most.

Departments represented in this class included:

โ€ข Tri-Community Fire Department
โ€ข Columbia Fire Department
โ€ข 4th District Fire Department (Walthall County FIRE Service)
โ€ข Enon Fire Department, Jayess MS
โ€ข Southwest Marion Volunteer Fire Department
โ€ข Pineburr volunteer fire department
โ€ข Petal Fire Department

The course was led by Deputy Chief Shane Saucier of Tri-Community Fire Department.

A special thank you goes out to Paramedics Chris McNease and Eli Turnage, along with EMT Clayton Wicker of AAA Ambulance Service, for assisting with skills training and providing students with an overview of ambulance operations and patient care in the pre-hospital environment.

Congratulations to all of the students for their commitment to expanding their knowledge and skills in emergency medical care. Your dedication will help make a difference in the lives of countless citizens throughout our communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this class a success. When seconds count, training matters.

What started as a conversation about a need for more storage space at a volunteer fire station turned into a community partnership that is helping both local firefighters and inmates prepare for life after incarceration.
