7 Truck

7 Truck 7 Truck is a Ladder company in Columbia, SC located on the north side of the city in the Cottontown community. It switched over to just a ladder truck in 1993.

Originally Firehouse 7 had 2 Engines and a battalion chief. Engine Company 12 and Engine Company 18 were housed here and at a later date Engine Company 7. This firehouse is one of the only original firehouses' left in the city and the only firehouse that is part of the historical society of Columbia. We are currently 7 Truck and have 12 firefighters on 3 shifts assigned to the station. One is a Ca

ptain, one an Engineer, and two Firefighters on each shift. This unit responds to FIRES,vehicle entrapment's, medical emergencies, swift water rescues, and rescue support operations. This truck company averages about 1500 to 2000 calls a year.

Early this morning ladder 7 first shift operated as the first due ladder on this abandoned commercial. Ladder 7, Ladder 9, & Rescue 1 conducted roof operations as Engine 11 & Engine 13 conducted an interior attack with later help from Engine 9 & Engine 1.
