Dream with us. How would our state look different if all people were lifted out of poverty?

As we reflect on 30 years of service and look to the work ahead, we're inspired by this answer–health care is a fundamental place to start.

"Poverty seems to be the results of several different factors. Meeting the most basic need of health seems to be a good place to start." –SCFSC event attendee

Today, we remember the Emanuel Nine, who were killed in a racist act of violence at Mother Emanuel AME Church in our state on June 17th, 2015.

As we honor their memory eleven years later, we hold up their families, loved ones, and church community with tender love and prayer.

We remember them by working for justice, speaking out against racism and white supremacy, working to change the systems that keep poverty in play, and building communities across our state that are rooted in dignity, compassion, and love.

May we never forget their names or the legacies they leave behind.

One of the greatest gifts of our ministry is the opportunity to come together—across communities, states and areas of service—to reflect on who we are, why we serve and how we’re called to lead. It’s one key way we continue to advance the important and inspiring work happening across the entire Sisters of Charity Health System. That spirit is reflected throughout this month’s Health System newsletter. Read the full May newsletter to learn more: https://bit.ly/4urU8AY
