For 50 years, Boone County Family Resources has proudly supported Boone County residents with developmental disabilities—and this past Thursday, April 23, we were honored to celebrate this milestone with our community!
More than 200 people joined us, including staff, individuals served, families, community members, Rep. Kathy Steinhoff, Presiding Commissioner Kip Kendrick, Boone County District II Commissioner Janet Thompson, and Justin Aldred Boone County Commissioner
The event featured welcome remarks from Executive Director Laura Cravens, a proclamation reading, special presentations, and the unveiling of our commemorative Community Art Collage.
Created in partnership with North Village Arts District artist Tootie Burns, the collage includes artwork from 107 artists and 117 submissions. Contributors included individuals served, staff, community members, schools, and partner organizations throughout Boone County. The collage now stands proudly outside our main office as a lasting symbol of inclusion, creativity, and community connection.
Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed artwork, and helped us celebrate five decades of impact. Here’s to the next 50 years of building opportunities, empowering lives, and strengthening our community together. 💙
