Richland County public, private, and alternative schools are eligible to apply for up to $1,000 in grant funding to support conservation projects and youth environmental education initiatives.

On October 17 and 18, Congaree National Park will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its establishment with a weekend of free events, including a commemorative ceremony, interpretive talks, guided hikes, special activities, and talks by guest speakers, including some who helped advocate for the park's creation.
