For Professionals supporting Intimate Partner Violence Survivors: the Coalition, along with members from the Brain Injury Association of Maryland (BIAMD), Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence, and HopeWorks of Howard County, is seeking survivors who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) and brain injury to participate in paid listening sessions this September.

These listening sessions are designed to create space for survivors to be heard and share their experiences.

Survivors do not have to navigate a hospital visit alone. đź’™

HopeWorks’ Hospital Accompaniment Program (HAP) partners with Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center to support survivors who seek medical care following sexual assault, domestic violence, or related abuse.

When a Sexual Assault Forensic Exam is requested and a Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) is dispatched, a HopeWorks advocate is also dispatched to provide immediate, confidential support.

Our advocates can help survivors understand their options, provide emotional support throughout the hospital visit, and connect them to additional HopeWorks services, including counseling, legal advocacy, safety planning, case management, shelter, and other resources.

These services are available 24/7.
