Boone Health is proud to announce it has earned redesignation as a Level I STEMI Center by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, reaffirming our ability to provide the highest level of care for patients experiencing severe heart attacks.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our physicians, nurses, emergency responders and support staff who work every day to deliver exceptional care to our community.

The redesignation comes alongside other recent recognitions, including being named one of the nation’s Top 100 Most Socially Responsible Hospitals by the Lown Institute Hospitals Index and being recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as the only hospital in Mid-Missouri recognized for having some of the lowest hospital readmission rates in the nation.

These honors reflect our ongoing commitment to quality, safety and compassionate care for the communities we serve.

Today Tori, Tyler and Syerra did an active assailant training and learned about scene management and the Incident Command System. While this is not a routine thing we do, nor wish to do, it is vital to be prepared in the event of a mass casualty incident. Trainings like this prepare us to work in a cohesive and efficient manner to better serve our community!

Today, Boone EMS remembers, honors, and thanks the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Have a safe Memorial Day! ⭐️

Today our crew for the parade arrived at Vandiver in a panic because they were afraid they were not going to get the truck cleaned in time. Thanks to our M112 crew a speed clean was done in record time! We love seeing teamwork in action to demonstrate the pride Boone has in our trucks.

As we wrap up EMS week, we want to take the time to thank all of our EMTs and Paramedics. The challenges we are faced with day to day can be indescribable, but we continue to persevere. For many this career is a calling. It takes courage and heart to care for strangers on some of the worst days of their lives. While we have 7 days to recognize the individuals that pursue this career, we know they will answer the call for 365.

We also couldn’t do it without our EMS chief. Over the past 6 months he has brought positive change and inspiration to us all to be the best providers we can be. Congratulations on your first EMS week with us Josh, and we are looking forward to many more. Thank you for everything you have done for us!

A common misconception is that “EMS” stands for “Emergency Medical Services,” when actually, the S stands for 🔥Shenanigans‼️

In all seriousness, one thing we recognize during EMS week is how difficult the job can be. In EMS we have to take a break from the stresses of the job. Here you won’t just find shenanigans, but you will find people of all ages who all somehow stumbled into this field, and created a family that revolves around blue trucks, flashing lights and Andy’s ice cream. 🍦

☀️ Ever wonder how we start our day? ☕️ We kick it all off with checking and washing our trucks! We never know what lies in the day ahead and it’s important we make sure we are fully stocked and ready to tackle whatever Boone County throws at us. We also take great pride in our ambulances and want to make them ✨ shine ✨ at the beginning of each shift! Then we head out and about for some much needed Waffle House and Starbucks! 🧇
