It really does take a village.

Behind every child who finds stability and every family that finds its footing is a whole group of people who chose to show up. Foster parents who opened their homes without knowing how the story would end. Volunteers who gave their Saturdays. Donors who gave what they could. Partners who believed in the work enough to stand behind it.

That is this community. That is you.

We do not take that for granted. Every single act of showing up matters more than you know and we are grateful for every person who has chosen to be part of this alongside us.

We are kicking off our 2026 School Supply Drive and this year we are dreaming a little bigger. Last year you helped us pack 200 backpacks. This year our goal is 300.

A backpack full of supplies is more than pencils and folders. For a child who has been through a lot it is a reminder that someone saw them and cared enough to prepare them for what is next.

You can pack a backpack with new supplies or donate a gift card from Amazon, Target, or Walmart. Drop offs are welcome Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM at our Columbia office through July 17.

The shopping list is linked in our bio. We would love to have you be part of this.

Right now more than 400,000 children are in foster care across the country.

Most of them did not end up there because of abuse. 61% entered the system due to poverty. A lack of housing, food, or childcare. Circumstances that with the right support could have been prevented.

That is why awareness matters. When more people understand what is really driving children into care the more we can do about it.

Share this and help someone else understand.

To every foster parent who joined us for the 2026 Foster Parent Appreciation Dinner, thank you.

You give so much of yourselves every single day. Your compassion, your patience, and your commitment to the children in your care does not go unnoticed. We see you and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

We hope the evening gave you a chance to breathe, to connect with others who understand the road you are on, and to feel the appreciation you so deeply deserve.

Thank you for being the steady presence that changes the trajectory of a childโ€™s life.

We want to give a huge shoutout to UHY and their UHY Connect Leadership Program.

As part of their UHY Cares initiative, their students came together and donated stuffed animals to the children we serve. These young people chose to spend part of their leadership experience giving back and they chose us. That means everything.

To the students, staff and everyone at UHY who made this happen, thank you. The children who receive these will feel the love behind them.

This is what partnership looks like.

As National Foster Care Month comes to a close we want to say thank you.

To everyone who shared. Who showed up. Who gave. Who simply paid attention when it would have been easier to look away.

That is what changes things. That is what changes lives.

We are grateful for every single person who stood with us this month. The work continues and so do we.

We are still smiling.

When we set a goal of $35,000 we believed in what this community could do. And then you showed up and reminded us that when people come together for something that truly matters there is no limit to what is possible.

$45,964 raised at the Ignite Hope Benefit Dinner.

Every single dollar goes toward children and families right here in Maryland who need someone in their corner. That is what you did on Saturday night. You became that someone.

From every child and family we serve thank you for believing in this work the way we do.

Before the first guest arrived, this team was already there.

Setting up tables, arranging place cards, hanging signage and making sure every single detail was ready for the evening. They showed up on a Friday night because they believed in what Saturday was going to mean.

This is the setup crew and none of it happens without them.

Thank you for giving your time and making the Ignite Hope Benefit Dinner everything it was.
