You may have seen a recent article claiming the Mississippi Department of Public Safety is moving forward with traffic cameras using artificial intelligence to detect traffic violations.

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has not, and will not execute any contract to use AI cameras to issue traffic citations.

We remain committed to protecting the rights of our citizens while working every day to make Mississippi safer!

We've identified the issue affecting some driver's licenses not scanning properly at TSA and other locations and are working tirelessly to complete the fix.

So much negativity in the world. I often speak of the power of inspiration and how we should honor those who have inspired us by finding ways to uplift others.

Let me introduce you to Mississippi Highway Patrol Master Sergeant Nathan Linkins. First Responders like him perform selfless acts of kindness daily that go unnoticed. But that's okay, because they do these acts with a heart of service. Thank you for being a shining inspiration to others Master Sergeant!

Prayers for Trooper Sergio Romero’s family and friends and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

It is with great sadness that DPS announces the death of Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Sergio Romero.

Trooper Romero was attempting to conduct a traffic stop along US-287 near Childress, around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, when a truck-tractor semi-trailer pulled out in front of him, causing his patrol unit to collide with the vehicle. Trooper Romero died on scene.

Trooper Romero answered the call to serve each day with honor and remained steadfast in his commitment to protecting and serving Texans. The DPS family will never forget the ultimate sacrifice he made in service of this state.
