Today’s Supreme Court decision is a setback for the 4th Amendment and for equal justice. It leaves Latino communities more exposed to violations of their rights and emboldens Trump-era policies of profiling and fear. Constitutional protections must apply to all of us, not just some of us.

As Justice Sotomayor wrote in her dissent:"We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job. Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent."

Organizers warned them to expect intensified raids after the justices blocked a lower court's ruling that prohibited roving patrols and racial profiling.
