Home Works of America

Home Works of America Home Works shows God’s love by repairing homes of SC neighbors in need through volunteer service.

At every Home Works repair effort, compassion meets construction. We've been serving low income homeowners in need through volunteer-led home repairs since 1996. Our service area encompasses certain counties in SC as well as a small effort in Fayetteville, NC and is determined by volunteer and staff presence in those areas. Visit homeworksofamerica.org to learn more, inquire about volunteering for

a repair day, see if you may qualify for home repairs, or to donate to our mission! For more questions about homeowner qualifications or to determine if you're in our SC service area, please call our office at (803) 781-4536 or read our Homeowner Page (https://homeworksofamerica.org/homeowners) for info on homeowner eligibility.

Peru 2026 is a wrap! 9 homes built for families in May. What an incredible two weeks. Did you know? :This year marked a Home Works team’s 26th year in Peru (16 of those years in the San Jacinto area). Led by volunteers with long time leader Cliff Moore coordinating, the funds to build these homes are entirely raised by participants and their communities who sponsor each house. Local families in Peru have built deep connections with the teams over the years, and several have continued to join Home Works to build alongside the team and create safe spaces for these families. Praise God for compassionate construction across the miles!

Voices of those we serve: these are clips from actual voicemails Home Works has received from neighbors who have sought and received help with critical home repairs.

For 30 years and counting, Home Works has received dozens of weekly calls from neighbors seeking help for critical home issues. These vulnerable homeowners’ concerns affect daily life and health and have become major burdens, and it’s an honor to help by equipping volunteer groups to meet these repair needs year round. Compassionate construction is our joy!

Join us as a supporter this day and year round to help sustain this mission to love our neighbors in need.

Thank you to this team from South Carolina Water Utilities for serving one of our clients in need this week! A huge gift to be able to ensure every day safety for our neighbor thanks to your generosity.

A team of our employees partnered with Home Works of America to provide services to a homeowner who needed reliable ingress and egress to and from their front and back porches. The team tore down and reconstructed a wheelchair ramp at the front of the home, built a cover over the front door landing, moved and installed a set of stairs at the back porch, installed a new toilet, replaced subflooring, and replaced the front door and its framing.

The work was necessary because the existing structure was susceptible to failure, which could have been catastrophic.
