Columbia Firehouse 9 on Devine "Engine Co. 9 and Ladder Co. 9" Five Points Firehouse
Open 365 Days a year Firehouse 9 is located in the heart of Devine St. just a few blocks outside of 5 Points in the City of Columbia.

Growth was something which the City of Columbia realized in 1943, when Station 9 was constructed in Shandon at 2847 Devine Street. Station 9 was temporarily moved to 802 Maple Street on October 24, 1994 and the old station was demolished and a new station constructed on site. When completed, Company 15 was to be renumbered Ladder 9 and relocated to the new station.

CRFD 2nd Shift crews were dispatched for a fire at a duplex this morning at a vacant home on the 500 block of Saluda Avenue.

Engine 9 & Ladder 9 arrived first on scene after 6 a.m. to find heavy fire coming from the property and working it’s way up to the roof. Crews established a water supply and got the fire under control and out.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury and there were no civilian injuries. The fire was ruled an accident as it was set by occupants who had been inside the structure trying to keep warm.
