Include payment with your registration form - make checks or money orders payable to the Howard County Director of Finance. We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA credit cards. Please sign the waiver on your receipt and bring it to the first session.

In 2003, the schoolhouse was moved to its current location in Rockburn Branch Park, where it now serves as a historic exhibit portraying the rural origins of Howard County’s schools.

In 1786, Edward Dorsey sold the estate to Colonel John Eager Howard, and it later became associated with Maryland’s only father-son governors, John Eager Howard and George Howard. In 1814, George Howard and his wife renamed the property “Waverly.” Today, the remaining four-acre estate is owned by Howard County Recreation & Parks.

We would like to invite you to join our new summer HCRP 6v6 lacrosse league! We will hold two practices the first week, then complete the summer with a 6-game regular season and playoffs.

Each division will be divided into "Team USA - North, South, East, West" and will compete for medal placement in select age groups (4th grade and up will have seeded playoffs). Players receive Club coaching and a jersey. Information: A.J. Adams, [email protected].

When? Starts the week of June 15. (Girls Mon & Th; Boys Tu/Wed)
Where? Cedar Lane Park East & West
Cost? Most sections $159 (Girls HS Team $899, Individual $99)
Commitment? 2-3 hours per week.

Full Structure? First week is two practices from 6-8pm (both days). This will be followed by a 6-game regular season, over the next 3 weeks. We skip the entire 4th of July week. The season concludes with one week of playoffs. Rainout dates are reserved until 7/31.

A section of the Patuxent Branch Trail near Lake Elkhorn in Columbia will be closed for maintenance until further notice beginning Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The 0.4-mile pathway section closure extends between Bridge #10 near 9801 Broken Land Parkway and Bridge #13 near South Carlinda Avenue. Access to the pathway from South Carlinda Avenue to points downstream remains open during maintenance.
