Yesterday, we did a ribbon cutting to celebrate 20 years of Russell Rescue TN! This nonprofit does an amazing job serving the animals of our community, giving them a safe place to land until they find their forever home.

Every year, we give scholarships to Maury County students going to study an agriculture-related degree. This year's scholarships were given in honor of Mary Susan Kennedy, and presented by the Maury Alliance Agribusiness Committee.

Today, we pause and honor those who have lost their lives in service to our country. Their ultimate sacrifice is not light, and it is not forgotten. We are so thankful for their dedication to our country and our freedom.

Maury Alliance will be closed today (5/25) in honor of Memorial Day. We will be back in office tomorrow to serve you all.

Yesterday, our Leadership Maury class had Agriculture Day! They started the day with Breakfast at United Farm & Home Co-Op, then ventured off to Blackjack Ridge Dairy Farm where they got a tour from the owners. After the farm tour, they went to the Middle TN Research and Education Center.

After lunch, the class got the opportunity to hear from Scott Vann: Regional Field Director, TN Farm Bureau Federation and Brent Worley: Maury County Farmer.

Then, they did a Wagon Tour of the Research and Education Center. To wrap up the day, they heard from James Harlan: UT Extension & Maury County Farmer and Ben Neal from Light Hill Meats.

Yesterday, our Young Professionals Committee hosted a lunch & learn about Digital Noise and Decision Fatigue. It was a fantastic time of learning, conversation, and exploring new ideas around how we spend time online and make decisions. Our mental health is crucial, and we spent our time together learning how to improve it as a group.
