Engine 16 3rd shift took in a first due job early this morning.

Quick work in stretching our 300' made for a seamless push inside where our crews were able to get a good knock on the fire.

No injuries to report. Excellent work by all Columbia units and Irmo fire.

Friends and supporters, Firehouse 16 has t shirts for sale!

The blue shirts are solely for firefighters, due to uniform restrictions.

The grey shirts are for all of our amazing friends who support the amazing men and women of firehouse 16!

Prices are as follows:

3XL: $17

Today, Engine 16 had a special visitor to the station!

Enzo and the wonderful women from the Pet Oxygen Kit Project stopped by to gift Engine 16 with a brand new pet oxygen kit!

Nena Sinclair and Mary Ellen Tobias are the fantastic ladies who have outfitted over 800 fire apparatuses across the state with these much needed masks!

We are honored to be one of those 800 and look forward to building a deeper bond with such a great organization!

Last week, the guys of 16’s 3rd shift crew were requested for mutual aid for Foam-3 by Cayce’s Fire Department for an 18-wheeler fire that contained a shipment of tires. The fire burned for several hours despite the hard work of all of the crews involved, but was eventually extinguished. A job well done for all of the units that worked together to get the job done! Last week the guys of Engine 16 3rd shift were invited to join a “Back to School Bash” that was being held by a local church. Engine 16 was on display for the public to see and our guys happily answered every single question that the kids threw their ways. Great job guys!

Engine 16 had the privilege of taking part in one of our local communities fourth of July parades.

The kids loved seeing the truck and flowing some water and we loved being a part of the celebration.

Spending time with our neighbors is one of the best parts of our job. Huge thank you to Guybson and Juliana Sa for inviting us!

We then began the very strenuous process of interviewing for our new station pup.

We cannot thank pawmetto lifeline enough for letting us be a part of today's experience and we look forward to next time!

If you live off of Kennerly Rd and heard a loud boom yesterday, that was just a controlled detonation by Richland County Sheriff's Department. Everything was rendered safe, and everyone went home. Just another day at the office!
