The Columbia Heights Public Library is a city-owned library serving a community of approximately 20,000 people located in the first ring of suburbs north of Minneapolis. The library participates in MELSA (the regional system), in METRONET (through a contract with the Anoka County Library), and in the Statewide Borrowers' Compact. The library is a department of the city, and is governed by a policy-making Library Board. The library is open 47 hours per week.
