The Colton Joint Unified School District serves more than 21,000 students at 28 schools and has approximately 2,300 employees. It covers 48 square miles, comprised primarily of Bloomington, Colton and Grand Terrace. It also includes smaller portions of the cities of Rialto, Fontana, San Bernardino, Riverside and Loma Linda. The Colton Joint Unified School District page is provided for the

district community by the Colton Joint Unified School District’s (CJUSD) Communications and Information Technology departments. The purpose of this page is to build parent and community involvement, collaboration, promote learning and share information and resources. Our Rogers Racoons celebrated the magic of reading last week with their Accelerated Reader Mickey Ears Parade. Students and staff kicked off the annual reading competition with school spirit and decorated mouse ears. They also held a ceremonial ribbon cutting on a Free Little Library to be installed in front of the school to give students more reading options during school breaks.

Michael D’Arcy Elementary School capped a week of learning about behavior expectations with its Splash into PBIS Rally on Friday.
PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) expectations at the school include Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. Students participated in games to earn Doggie Dollars and show their spirit, enthusiasm and dedication to learning.

This group works with CJUSD’s Facilities Planning and Construction Department to help make their efforts successful. Their most recent meeting included a tour of the new TK classrooms, drop-off area and play area currently under construction at Wilson Elementary School.

Students earned points for participating in the event’s games and activities. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports - PBIS - helps establish positive school culture so all students can achieve academic, emotional and social success.
