๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ June is Colorado Pollinator Month! ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ

This month we're celebrating the incredible pollinators that support our ecosystems, agriculture, health, and economy. From bees and butterflies to hummingbirds and beetles, pollinators play a vital role in maintaining the biodiversity that keeps our communities and watersheds healthy. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒŽ

Here at the Fountain Creek Watershed District, we're helping create healthy habitat for pollinators through projects like our community raingardens! Planted with native botanical species, raingardens do more than just make your yard look pretty โ€” they also help capture stormwater runoff, improve water quality, reduce erosion, and provide food and shelter for pollinators and other wildlife.๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿฆ‹

Want to support pollinators at home? Here are a few simple ways to help:

๐ŸŒป Plant native flowers and grasses
๏ฟฝ๐Ÿ Provide pollinator habitat
๏ฟฝ๐Ÿšซ Reduce pesticide use
๏ฟฝ๐Ÿ’ง Conserve water and support healthy watersheds

Healthy pollinators and healthy watersheds go hand in hand!

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’ง We kicked off Colorado Bike Month last Friday by hosting our third annual Ride the Watershed event in Pueblo! ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰

Valued partners and watershed community members rode bikes all the way from CSU Pueblo to the Riverwalk downtown, with educational stops all along the route. Along the way, participants learned more about the waterways that connect our communities and the importance of protecting them. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿž๏ธ

The Fountain Creek Watershed District serves many purposes, including engaging the community through education and bringing organizations together to create positive change. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™ We are so grateful to everyone who spent the morning learning, riding, and connecting with us!

As Colorado Bike Month continues, we encourage everyone to get out on the trails, especially those that follow our precious creeks and rivers. ๐Ÿšฒโ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ Check out ways to celebrate bike month and the great outdoors happening throughout Pueblo City and County: https://www.activepueblo.net/

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Taproom Takeover at Mash Mechanix Brewing Co. and helped us raise $700 for clean water! ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ‰

We had an incredible evening connecting with community members, sharing conversations about watershed stewardship, and celebrating the amazing local craft beer scene that helps support our work with the Fountain Creek Brewshedยฎ Alliance. Events like these remind us how powerful community partnerships can be when people come together around a shared love for clean water, local businesses, and great brews.

A special shoutout to the fantastic team at Mash Mechanix for hosting us and helping make the event such a success. Weโ€™re also grateful to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a pint, asked questions, and supported watershed education and restoration efforts throughout the evening.

Together, weโ€™re helping build a stronger, more connected brewshed โ€” one pint at a time! ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿบ
