Come out to the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center on Saturday, September 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a fun day full of archaeology! Archaeology is the study of the people who came before us. How they ate, how they interacted, how they lived. The Pikes Peak Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society will have stations set up around the Visitor Center for kids of all ages to explore pottery, rock art, and lithics, along with touch tables from Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services.

For the adults, we’ll have a special program from City of Colorado Springs’ Lead Archaeologist and the Manager of Garden of the Gods Park, Anna Cordova, on the “Stewardship of Colorado Springs’ Archaeological Resources” from 1 - 2 p.m. in the Red Rocks Room.

This day will be interactive, educational, and free!

Early Bird Hike & Bike is this Wednesday from 5am - 8am!

The Early Bird Hike & Bike at Garden of the Gods is an opportunity for recreationalists to enjoy the park and its roadways without motor vehicles. All normal park rules will be enforced. As always, entrance to the park is free!
