🎈✨ Labor Day Lift Off's 50th Anniversary is Taking Flight! ✨🎈

The Labor Day Lift Off's 50th Anniversary is well underway, and the excitement started long before sunrise! At 5:30 AM, AMR standby team Bailey Eichers and Ariel Payne were on site, bright-eyed, energized, and ready for whatever the day might bring.

A huge congratulations to Lyssa Rauenzahn and Brooke Koback, who were selected to take an unforgettable balloon ride! They were filled with excitement, anticipation, and just a few nervous butterflies as they prepared to soar above this incredible event.

Here's to a memorable weekend filled with beautiful balloons, lasting memories, and community spirit!

A Busy Day at AMR Colorado Springs! 🚑👏

Yesterday was an exciting and productive day across the Colorado Springs Business Unit!

We officially welcomed the newest members of our August Academy as they began their journey with AMR in our Colorado Springs Kitchen area. Please join us in welcoming:

Inspired by the television show Emergency!, Curtis Roberds developed an early interest in emergency medical services (EMS). Curtis, who goes by Curt, soon realized it was his true calling when he began serving in 1985. His journey led him to AMR - Colorado Springs/El Paso County, where Curt has dedicated the past 35 years of service, cultivating a passion for EMS and a deep connection to the community he serves.

AMR Colorado Springs in Action 🚑

On Wednesday, August 19, AMR Colorado Springs Operations Supervisors and Clinical Education Specialists (CES) participated in a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training exercise at the Colorado Springs Airport.

Representing AMR Colorado Springs were Maegan Balschweid, Operations Supervisor; Jeff Cole, Administrative Supervisor; along with Amanda Wilkinson and Curt Roberds, Clinical Education Specialists (CES).

Working alongside the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), Colorado Springs Airport, Peterson Space Force Base, and Fort Carson, the exercise focused on Incident Command System (ICS) operations, interagency coordination, and mass casualty triage management.

These collaborative training opportunities help ensure our teams are prepared to respond quickly, efficiently, and effectively during large-scale emergencies. We are proud to work alongside our public safety and military partners to strengthen preparedness and provide the highest level of care to our community.

AMR Colorado Springs Badging Ceremony

Today, we proudly celebrated the accomplishments of our EMTs, Paramedics, Honor Guard members, and Operations Manager during the AMR Colorado Springs Badging Ceremony.

We also recognized and pinned our dedicated Field Training Officers (FTOs), whose leadership, mentorship, and commitment to excellence play a vital role in training and developing our EMTs and Paramedics. Their efforts help ensure our teams are prepared to provide the highest level of care and service to our community every day.

Congratulations to all those who were badged and pinned today. Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving others make a difference in the lives of the patients, families, and communities we proudly serve.

⚽ Game Day, Safety First!

AMR crew members were on site at the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC match, enjoying another exciting event while remaining ready to respond at a moment's notice. As dedicated Paramedics and EMTs, they stay focused on keeping players, staff, and fans safe throughout every game.

The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC continue to compete in the USL Championship and have put together a strong 2026 season, earning multiple wins and maintaining a competitive position in the Western Conference. Although the team suffered a hard-fought 0-1 loss to El Paso Locomotive FC on August 22, the Switchbacks continue to demonstrate determination and resilience on the field.

AMR Launches "Koats for Kids" Coat Drive to Support Local Children

AMR is proud to announce the return of its Koats for Kids coat drive, an initiative dedicated to helping local children stay warm during the upcoming winter season.

The campaign is collecting brand-new winter coats for children in grades K-5, with sizes ranging from 5 to 16. Community members and employees are encouraged to participate by donating new coats that will directly benefit children in need throughout the local area.

"As temperatures begin to drop, many families face challenges in providing warm winter clothing for their children," said organizers of the event. "The Koats for Kids program offers a meaningful way for our team and community to come together and ensure local children have the warmth and comfort they deserve."

Donations can be dropped off at base to either Cheryl or the On-Duty Supervisor. To ensure every child receives a quality item, all donations must be new and unused.

Colorado Springs Frontline Leadership Academy
This week, we wrapped up our Colorado Springs Frontline Leadership Academy, bringing together 41 leaders from across the country representing Support Services, Field Operations, Air Medical Operations, Clinical, Motor Sports, Special Events, and Comm Center teams.

Over the week, leaders dug into topics like Core Behaviors, workforce understanding, retention planning, feedback, finance, documentation, conflict resolution, compliance, safety, and West Region expectations. It was a powerful reminder that leadership looks different across every part of our organization, but the work is connected by the same mission: supporting our people, strengthening our teams, and keeping care at the center.

Congratulations to our newest FLA graduates! The Honey Badger spirit was alive and well in Colorado Springs: show up, dig in, ask the hard questions, and find a way together. Macara Trusty
