Steve Schleiker was elected El Paso County Clerk & Recorder in 2022 and took office in 2023 for a four-year term. As Clerk, Steve works with the staff to provide excellent customer service in Motor Vehicle, Recording, Elections, and Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners. Additionally, the Clerk’s Office has six support departments which provide assistance to the various statutory departments:

These various departments work together to service the citizens of El Paso County on a daily basis. Since most citizens' transactions are conducted with one of the Clerk’s departments, this office could be considered the face of County Government. We are often a person’s first and only impression of their local government and we strive to provide the best possible services.
