Very proud to have my recommended and endorsed Community Recognition Program highlighted by KOAA News 5. Thank you to my City Council colleagues for supporting my vision💯
My goal in building this program was to recognize volunteers who are the heart of a strong community. As elected officials, one of our responsibilities is to recognize those who make a difference every day—often quietly, resource constrained, and without seeking recognition. When we honor our volunteers, we are celebrating the spirit of service that makes our entire community stronger.

Yesterday's joint Town Hall with myself and State Senator Larry Liston of Senate District 10 spurred great conversation with a good group of constituents.
We covered a range of topics from nuclear energy in the region, data center, noise abatement, 911 Authority, etc.
Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts...both Senator Liston and I truly appreciate the engagement.

Always an honor to recognize citizens who are doing great things in our city and local communities.

We’re excited to announce the first honoree of the City Council’s Community Recognition Program!

This recognition celebrates community members who go above and beyond to make Colorado Springs a better place for everyone. Please join us in congratulating District 6 Resident Phillip Cisneros for his outstanding dedication and positive impact. His nomination came from a fellow community member who recognized his meaningful contributions, and we’re proud to highlight his work.

Phillip has demonstrated exemplary community service through his leadership of the Freedom Elementary School PTA, where he has consistently worked to uplift students, support educators, and strengthen the school community.

Phillip has also served in many vital roles within Cub Scout Pack 84 including cubmaster, den leader, accountant, and any other responsibility needed, ensuring that the pack remains strong, organized, and mission focused.

When Pack 84 lost its sponsoring organization, Phillip stepped up, allowing the program to continue and ensuring that scouts in our community did not lose an important source of mentorship, learning, and personal growth.

Phillip’s unwavering commitment has created a safe, encouraging environment where young people can learn new skills, build confidence, explore leadership, and develop into engaged citizens and responsible young men.

Stay tuned as we continue to showcase the incredible people who strengthen our community!

*I carried that American Flag in my backpack on my last mission in Afghanistan; PROUDLY displaying it today*

As we celebrate our independence, let us remember the Fight, Courage, Sacrifice, Blood, and Tears of the millions who came before us—and the millions of hardworking Americans who continue to defend and preserve our freedoms today!!
Freedom is not inherited without cost...it is earned, defended, and renewed by every generation. We honor those who built this country not only with our gratitude, but with our determination to protect the values they cherished and to leave an even stronger, freer America for our children and grandchildren.
