Check out this opportunity to elevate our student voices. We would love to see students from our community apply to be a part of this in a big way. Last year, we had a D2 student recognized as one of the top of the class and she was given a scholarship for her dedication and contributions.

The Chief’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) gives Colorado Springs students ages 14–18 the opportunity to meet directly with the Chief of Police, learn more about CSPD operations, participate in hands-on experiences, and provide their perspectives on issues that matter to young people. The application deadline is September 14th, so make sure to act now if you have a student who is interested.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is looking for young people who want to make a difference, share their voice, and help shape conversations about policing and our community.

Our school is excited to partner with the Denver Broncos and Colorado Colorado Department of Education leaders to highlight why attendance matters! It starts with our staff and students showing up for class every single day! Let's do this!

Attendance is a team sport! Today, we're announcing our new Denver Broncos Attendance Network in partnership with the Denver Broncos Foundation and Attendance Works. This initiative is a learning cohort for school leaders focused on improving student attendance that includes 53 schools from thirteen school districts and two BOCES.

The participants include:

Stallion Nation, we have 35 weeks of instruction left which means we have 35 opportunities to make students feel seen, heard, and loved! This week’s Golden Golf Ball award winner, courtesy of Sophomore Marlene Ponce, is theatre teacher Ms. Williford! Facts are facts: there’s no drama when it comes to Ms. W’s teaching; she’s all class! In Marlene’s words, “I want to pursue theatre and the arts because of you!” Stallion Nation, let’s show some love for Ms. Williford!

Set the coffee maker and wash the crust outcha eyes! It’s Senior Sunrise! This group of seniors feels special, and they showed OUT this morning to gather and make a lasting memory. Here’s to the Class of 2027! Let’s make this year one to remember!!!

Sierra Family!

We will be having our school wide picture day this Thursday, August 27. Students will be called down to the gym by grade level and alpha split by last name throughout the day. Our goal is to do this as efficiently as possible to reduce instructional disruptions.

Students will receive their school ID card immediately after taking their pictures, making this an important process. All student faces need to be clearly seen in the picture, so masks or face coverings will not be permitted in the picture. Additionally, students should avoid wearing green as this will blend with the green screens being used and make the student not visible.

Ordering information is attached to this email. All ordering is completed online and there are no physical packets to pick up, fill out, or bring to picture day.
