Our very own, Captain Danny Oursler, doing great work with the Virginia Fire Officer Academy!

As we get underway with the 2026 Virginia Fire Officers Academy, we'd like to continue introducing the outstanding staff members who help make this academy a success. We will continue highlighting members throughout the duration of the academy.

This afternoon, we'd like to recognize the individual who works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our technology running smoothly. Our Information Technology Chief, Lieutenant Daniel Oursler from Spotsylvania County Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Management

A graduate of the 2022 Virginia Fire Officers Academy, Lieutenant Oursler immediately stepped up to serve the academy following his graduation. From managing technical systems to troubleshooting unexpected issues, he plays a critical role in ensuring our staff and students have the resources they need throughout the week.

Thank you, Lieutenant Oursler, for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Virginia Fire Officers Academy. We appreciate all that you do!

The 75th annual Fireman’s Parade was a success! Despite the forecasted weather, we are thankful to all who showed up for our event. Congratulations to everybody that placed, especially Hollywood Volunteer Fire Dept for taking home the Charles Catlett award for best appearing Pierce. Also the winners of the Joe Tate Award for Best appearing Fire dept overall to Second District Volunteer Fire Department! Huge thank you to all the members for their support and contributions the day of and weeks leading up to the parade. Thank you to all, see you next year!

Starting at 7:30 PM, the streets of Colonial Beach will come alive with the roar of sirens, flashing lights, gleaming fire engines, rescue trucks, antique apparatus, and emergency vehicles from across the region. This isn't just a parade it's a spectacle!
Bring the family, grab your favorite spot along the route, and experience one of the most exciting and beloved traditions of the festival. The sights, the sounds, the excitement you have to see it to believe it!
