The 2026 Secrecy Law (HB 2616 / SB 2162): Under legislation passed by the Tennessee General Assembly, a candidate for director-level positions—including city managers, school superintendents, and police chiefs—can explicitly request that their application and initial screening remain confidential. Local public bodies can switch to private sessions to screen and interview candidates who request confidentiality. However, the final vote to hire the city manager must still take place in a wide-open public meeting.

This will effect most of the residents inside the city limits!

TVEC will have a planned power outage in the Collinwood area on Saturday August 15th beginning at 11:59 pm. Work is expected to take approximately 4 hours. Areas highlighted in red will be without power the entire working time. Areas highlighted in blue will experience a brief outage at the beginning and completion of work. Only the streets that are listed will be affected. Please contact TVEC at (931) 722-5441 with any questions you have concerning this outage.

***As of July 30, 2026 the Boil Water Notice has been lifted. All bacterial testing of the Collinwood Water Plant has been completed.***

*** This is totally precautionary! Maintenance is being performed on the water plant and the state requires that we put this notice out. There is currently no issue with the water. This notice runs from 07/28/26-07/30/26.**
