Mt Vera Fire Department We are a small fire department in the south end of DeKalb County, AL, just 3.3 miles south of the I-59 205 exit on County Road 12.

We adjoin Crossville, Hendrixville, and Collinsville Fire Departments. As with any volunteer fire department, donations are always welcomed, thank you.

I-59S CLOSING AGAIN: About 17 miles of I-59 southbound in northern Etowah and southern DeKalb counties will close Friday, May 15, for repairs to a crossover on an interstate reconstruction project. ALDOT anticipates the repairs taking several hours to complete.

ALDOT will close I-59 southbound between Exit 205 at Collinsville and Exit 188 at Reece City beginning at 7 a.m. for the contractor to make the repairs.

ALDOT will divert southbound traffic at Exit 205 to SR-68 eastbound to US-11 southbound to SR-211 southbound, then back to I-59 at Exit 188.
