Not everyone likes fireworks! Be respectful!
Ohio law allows individuals to legally discharge 1.4G consumer fireworks on their own property (or with permission on another's) on specific holidays between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
Permitted HolidaysYou may discharge consumer fireworks on the following dates:
🎇Memorial Day weekend: The last Monday in May and the immediately preceding Saturday and Sunday (4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
🎇Juneteenth: June 19 (4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
🎇Independence Day period: July 3, 4, 5, and the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday immediately before and after July 4th (4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
🎇Labor Day weekend: The first Monday in September and the immediately preceding Saturday and Sunday (4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)

Safety and Usage Rules
Age Requirements: No one under the age of 18 is permitted to handle or discharge fireworks.
Distance Constraints: Aerial devices (e.g., Roman candles, bottle rockets) must be discharged at least 150 feet away from spectators and structures. Non-aerial devices (e.g., fountains) must be at least 50 feet away.
No Alcohol/Drugs: Discharging fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance is a first-degree misdemeanor.
Prohibited Locations: You cannot discharge fireworks on public property (like parks or streets), private school property, or indoors.
Weather & Livestock: Discharging is prohibited during drought conditions, red flag warnings, or high winds. You must also maintain a 150-foot distance from structures housing livestock, unless you provide five days' advance written notice to the owner.
