Some of the things that have happened in the past to those who waited until election day are their location was out of ballots, bad weather prevented them from getting out, voting machines broke down and then you don’t know what life has in-store for you on election day. You have from Oct. 21 to Nov. 1 to vote early. Please put one of these days on your schedule to vote.

🛑IMPORTANT - NEW Public Comment Period re: Black Mountain Cement Plant Proposal 🛑

Due to a change in EPA rules, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is once again accepting public comments and requests for SOAH Hearings on the Black Mountain Cement Plant in Grayson County. Stakeholders and citizens should RESUBMIT comments, even if you already participated in a previous public comment period.

Time is short! The public comment period ends on August 8, 2024. Please be sure to engage again in this opportunity to express your position!

If approved, the plant could negatively impact the local community and businesses, with potential issues including reduced air quality, health risks, and disruption to nearby commercial activities, such as state-of-the-art computer chip manufacturing. Environmental effects also include increased air pollution from dust and emissions, noise pollution, and the depletion of local water resources.
